Fairly expensive compared to the meals we have had elsewhere, but still worth it if you like something a bit different. Italian cuisine with a bit of twist and you can watch the chef on a plasma screen preparing your meal. Friendly service and I would go for the specials as the waiter takes his time to explain them in very precise english. The chocolate souffle desert and the semi fredo were to die for. Our meal came to around 65 euros for two people, for three courses including wine and water. So a little more than we have been paying but still well worth it. - Sharo

Our second visit and again we were delighted. Warm welcome, really nice dining room (we were inside this time because Autumn is arriving). Good table setting. Fish lasagne was delightful; as was Sushi to start. Steak with pistachio crust on rocket was novel but delicious. Pork fillet with pear and cheese sauce was also delicious. The only negative, our choice because we like to go local, was the white wine from Gallicano. Probably best avoided… 58 Euros including coffee. Really good value. - Tim

Despite the two strong recommendations, it has taken us 2 years to try this relatively new restaurant in the centre of Barga. We were not disappointed. We sat on the small terrace at the back of the restaurant. There is another on the street. The cottage cheese and spinach appetizer, warm foccacia and sparkling aperitif were lovely. A light calametti and polpe soup (special of the day) was delightful. Miaile with pear, cheese and a balsamic sauce was perfect. Capelletti of mozzarella in a pancetta and cheese sauce was also very special. A pinot from Collio and two coffees rounded off a delightful meal, which for 53 Euros was also excellent value for money. - Tim

We had a beautiful meal here in October 2007. The service was first class, the food was excellent, and as for value for money......32 euros for 3 courses, wine and coffee for 2!!!......this meal would cost 3 times as much in Glasgow and it wouldn't have tasted half as good!! I'd recommend anyone visiting Barga to eat here. - Al

Sophisticated Tuscan is a new concept in Barga! Take traditional garfagnino ingredients and serve with a bit of `nouvelle cuisine` panache, and watch the chef on a large screen as he prepared your meal! Luckily the fancy presentation has not detracted from the excellent quality of the food. Newly opened in a restored cantina, with brick ceiling. Try the grilled duck with chestnut tart or the rose of smoked salmon, both excellent. The bocconcino di vitellu was also great. Price reasonable (but may rise as the summer season arrives) Service was a bit erratic, but friendly and attentive, during their first week but will improve. Certainly a new experience in Barga. - Bargadining
